Body Like: An Allegory for a Tangled Root invites you to gather around a representation of a strangler fig tree embodying multiple aspects of Elisabeth Efua Sutherland's and Jeremy Nedd's research into Ghana's entangled histories of bodies moving voluntarily and involuntarily through space, time, and history.

You will get an insight of the initial observations, reflections and encounters of the Accra based Artist Elisabeth Efua Sutherland and Basel based Artist Jeremy Nedd as they conclude on the first part of a co-creation project. You will experience various digital and physical artefacts collected over the course of the past three weeks in Accra, Cape Coast, Winneba, and Akropong.

Please bring along your smartphone with a QR code reader/internet connection and earphones/a means to listen.

We hope to see you there.

WHO WE ARE: We are an artist-led space providing a platform for artists and creatives working across performance, visual arts, and social engagement sectors. We host classes, workshops, intimate performances, a flea market, pop up kitchens, and more. We also host residencies for performing artists who are based in or visiting Accra, Ghana. Since 2017, we've hosted over 200 events ! But what if we could host even better events by even more artists? We would need to provide some indoor space, a better selection of equipment, improved landscaping, a functional cafe, and develop some cool merchandise. This would vastly expand the number and frequency of events we can host, as well as improve the quality and overall experience for our guests and viewers. With your support, we can open the space up on a whole new level to the creative scene here in Accra.
