Former Ministry of Education spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng has clarified that popular teacher and social media star Teacher Kwadwo was dismissed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) not for criticising the previous government, but for absenteeism — after failing to report to his post for an entire year.

Speaking on TV3’s New Day on April 22, 2026, Kwarteng addressed ongoing public speculation about Teacher Kwadwo’s sudden disappearance from both the classroom and the media spotlight.

“There is a guy called Teacher Kwadwo, and when he was sacked… for about a year, he had not been at post. No institution anywhere in the world will normalise that,” he stated firmly.

Kwarteng used the opportunity to stress the importance of discipline and accountability in Ghana’s public education sector, rejecting the notion that public servants are immune to consequences.

The revelation has sparked fresh debate online, with many Ghanaians now weighing the claims of prolonged absence against earlier rumours of political victimization.

Teacher Kwadwo rose to fame through his humorous and educational videos featuring students, but his prolonged absence from duty ultimately led to his dismissal, according to the former spokesperson.

The story continues to trend as discussions around work ethics in the public sector intensify.

Peter Okoye Fires Back Over Use of Group Name

A fan recently challenged singer Peter Okoye (Mr P) on social media with a pointed question:

“If you don’t want anything to do with Paul… why are you still using the name Psquare?”

Peter responded sharply and defiantly:

“I discovered the name. I earned it. And now I own it 100%.”

The exchange has gone viral, reigniting public interest in the long-running feud between the former twin duo.

Peter, who has been distancing himself from his twin brother Paul Okoye in recent times (including changing his birthday), made it clear he has no plans to drop the iconic P-Square brand. He described the situation as “a game of chess” and reminded followers that the brothers’ legal battle remains active in court.

The ongoing court case between Peter and his elder brother Jude Okoye (over alleged fund diversion during their P-Square days) continues, adding more fuel to the family rift that has kept fans divided for years.

As the drama unfolds, many are watching closely to see how the name dispute plays out legally.

Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Davido has declared that he does not want his children to pursue careers in the entertainment industry. Instead, he prefers they work in the companies owned by his father, billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke.

Speaking in a viral interview on The Breakfast Club, Davido explained that his father’s initial opposition to his music career “killed his joy,” and he does not want to put his own kids through similar struggles. He humorously stated, “Omo, go and work with my dad,” while noting the deep happiness his father derives from spending time with his grandchildren during Christmas, despite his vast wealth including multiple private jets.

Davido added that he would not completely oppose his children if they insist on entering entertainment, mentioning that his daughter is already showing interest by singing and dancing.

“Anyone Who Hates Me Is a Wítch!” — Agradaa Fires Back at Haters in Fiery TikTok Rânt

Controversial Ghanaian evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, has dropped another bombshell statement that is already trending across social media.

During a live session on TikTok today, Agradaa boldly declared that anyone who harbours hátred towards her must be a witch, questioning why anyone would dislike her when she minds her own business and focuses on her family.

“The d3vil thought I would fall, but he’s a liar. This is why Ghanaians love me. Anyone who ha.tes me is a wítch. Why would you hate me if you’re not a wítch?” she said.

Agradaa went on to describe her life as peaceful and blessed, stating that she only thinks about making herself, her husband, and her children happy.

“You don’t have any reason to ha.te me because I don’t think of anyone. I always try to make myself, my husband and my children happy. There’s blessing wherever I set foot. I’m a blessed soul.”

“I Charge GH¢1 Million For A Show” — Medikal Boldly Reveals His Performance Fee, Says Organizers Often Negotiate Down to GH¢500K

Ghanaian rap superstar Medikal has sparked massive online buzz after openly disclosing his hefty performance fee in a recent BBC interview.

According to the rapper, he demands GH¢1 million to grace any stage with his performance. However, when organizers can’t meet the full amount, the figure is often negotiated down to GH¢500,000.

“When I perform at a show, I charge GH¢1 million. Sometimes they can’t afford it, so they negotiate down to GH¢500,000. A lot of people think we are bragging when we say these things, but it depends on how the music industry is structured,” Medikal stated.

He used the revelation to shed light on the challenges facing Ghanaian artistes, comparing the local music industry unfavourably to the American system. Medikal pointed out that while bodies like GHAMRO pay as little as GH¢120 (about $10) in royalties, a single song in the US can generate anywhere from $10 to $100 million and sustain an artist for years.
