We put together inspiring and unique stories sourced from across the continent and the African Diaspora that embrace and capture the true essence of Africans. Why "Afrobougee"? The title of our publication is very meaningful and symbolises the core values of our online portal. “Afro” represents the natural born talent combined with the African inspired element of the people and creativity we feature. “Bougee” derives from the term “bourgeois”, representing individuals who deeply appreciate and have a burning desire for the finest, most beautiful things in life and aspire to be the best they can be at all times. Further, it connotes the bourgeoisie revolution which cleared the ground for the industrialisation and creation of a modern economy, a journey which Africa is actively engaging in.
