African Support Network (“ASN”) or (the “Company”), formerly called the African Centre for Cultural Interchange (“ACCI”) was originally a Limited Liability Company Limited by Guarantee. It was incorporated in February 2011 and commenced business a few months later as a not-for-profit organization, established to serve as a link between the Ghanaian community and members of the Diaspora who have an
interest in Ghana. Over the years, the then entity ACCI successfully facilitated a number of trade missions, cultural exchange programmes, university exchange programmes and ‘year-abroad’ programmes for members of the Ghanaian educational fraternity to spend a study-year abroad and vice-versa. Subsequent to the above-mentioned successes, the Company was re-named ASN and its activities expanded to include the provision of micro-loans and financial services assistance to members of the communities in which ASN carried out its field activities, particularly women. In the recent past, the company has been reorganized into a limited liability holding company with several subsidiaries, each with a unique business line. The business arm of the company has also been converted into a profit-making entity, whilst the foundation (African Support Network) continues to provide training, capacity building, community self-help initiatives and other gratis services to members of the general public, particularly ASN clients.
