Awo Xorlali writes ...
Where do you go when you sin?
Say you beat up someone who is innocent, or you cause the downfall of someone who has done nothing wrong, or you are caught to have been cheating on your wife/husband or embezzling huge funds, where do you go to?
There was a man in the Bible who slept with someone's wife while the husband was away on assignment for him. When he found out the woman was pregnant, he called the husband back home so that the woman can pin the pregnancy on the husband. When this plan backfired, he gave orders for the husband to be killed. And then he took the woman in as a wife!
David! Like wow!
And you wonder why he was so dear to God?
Anytime David sinned, he went to God. He believed that it was better God punish him than man because God is merciful ()
After all that mayhem with Bathsheba, he wrote Psalm 51 confessing his sins to God and asking God for mercy. He lost the child that came out of that affair but the son succeeded him as King (Solomom).
Sin is like stepping in darkness. You dont go further into the darkness because you are afraid of what people will see when you step into the light or that God will reject you.
You can get lost or killed or both. For the wages of sin is death .. death if only you stay in your sin but life if you come to God, repentant.
Be like David - the man after God's heart. When you sin against God, come to him in that sin and he will cleanse you and make things right!
