*ACCRA YOUTH CHOIR LAUNCHES 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WITH A SPIRIT-FILLED CONCERT*
The Accra Youth Choir (AYC) officially launched its 20th Anniversary celebrations with a memorable Concert of Praise and Thanksgiving on Sunday, 28th June 2026, at the Wesley Chapel of the Methodist Church Ghana, Accra.
The launch marked the beginning of a year-long celebration of two decades of faithful ministry through music, evangelism, discipleship, and service to the Church and society.
Founded in 2006 through the vision of Mr. Edmund Ellis Ekuful, the Accra Youth Choir has grown into one of the leading youth choral ministries in the Methodist Church Ghana. Over the past twenty years, the Choir has remained steadfast in its mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through sacred music, while nurturing generations of young people in Christian character, discipline, leadership, and musical excellence.
The anniversary launch concert brought together ministers, patrons, former and current choristers, families, friends, and music lovers for an uplifting evening of worship and thanksgiving. Through inspiring choral renditions, scripture, prayer, and testimonies, the congregation reflected on God's abundant faithfulness throughout the Choir's remarkable journey.
A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the 20th Anniversary Logo, symbolizing two decades of God's grace, growth, and impact. The logo represents the Choir's rich heritage while looking forward with renewed commitment to its vision of touching lives through Christ-centred music ministry.
Speaking on behalf of the Patrons, Rev. Hedwig Naa Tolloo Quist commended the Choir for its unwavering dedication, resilience, and pursuit of excellence. She noted that what began as a vision in 2006 has blossomed into a vibrant ministry that has produced accomplished musicians, music educators, and Christian leaders, while earning recognition both within Ghana and internationally.
She encouraged members to remain committed to the Choir's founding values of determination, perseverance, and endurance, reminding them that the greatest legacy of the Choir lies in their transformed lives and faithful witness to Christ. She commended the Members ( present and past), and the patrons for their continous contributions and support. Subsequently she declared the 20th Anniversary celebrations officially launched.
As the Accra Youth Choir embarks on this milestone celebration, it reaffirms its commitment to using music as a powerful instrument for evangelism, worship, and the holistic development of young people.
The Choir invites the Church, alumni, friends, partners, and the general public to participate in the various activities planned throughout the anniversary year as it celebrates twenty years of God's faithfulness under the theme of gratitude, service, and renewed commitment to the Gospel.
