Strengthening the Transnational Bonds of the Ga Nation! 🇬🇭🇹🇬

A few days ago, the Asere Mantse, Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III, accompanied by a large retinue of elders and kinsmen, departed Accra for Aného, Togo. The historic journey was to honor an invitation from the Nikoi Olai Family of Aného for their annual Yeke Yeke Festival celebrations.

Beyond Accra, the Nikoi Olai family maintains deep ancestral roots across the West African coast, including communities in Benin (Agoué) and Togo (Aného and Agbodrafo). They are widely recognized by family names such as Kotey, Kotei, Naadei, Adei, Ashi, Djarnie, Amon, Afutu, Kutorkor, among others.

As part of the visit, the Asere Mantse held a strategic meeting with the Regent of Aného, Prince Latévi Adondjegoun Body Lawson, to explore pathways for mutually beneficial socio-cultural collaborations between the two communities.
