4 days spent in autumn Tbilisi, in the Golden season, meeting some of the best performance companies from across Georgia . During these days Tbilisi becomes the largest platform for networking. It will allow you to start conversations, renew relationships and discover new ideas with guests and participants.

International Call For Applications For Participation In The Festival In 2016!

Dear Friends,

TBILISI INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THEATRE Announces Call for applications for participation in the festival PROGRAM “NEW”!

TBILISI INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THEATRE runs every year by the end of September, beginning of October and is one of the major events in International life of Georgia and Black Sea Region.
The dates of Festival in 2016 is September 20 - October 10.

The festival’s reputation has been built on the quality of its program, with the selected works of major international directors and companies from all over the world. This was the frame for the Festival for first two years since foundation.
But in search of theatre and artists, that were beyond our focus and knowledge, we decided to resize the frames, rethink the idea and as a result the Festival presented program NEW, first in 2011.

Since then - we hosted several companies from different places of world - the wonderful works and artists from Israel, Poland, Lithuania, Argentina, Romania, Germany, Finland, Russia, India, Denmark, Slovenia, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Norway, Hungary made the idea of NEW successful.

NEW is getting more and more popular. We receive more than 500 applications for program each year and the request is increasing.

So, the program develops together with its participants. And we announce the program every year with great anticipation of new works, discoveries and possibilities for Festival and for Artists.

This is the Sixth CALL with deadline of April 1, 2016.

So, welcome to new Call!

For participation in the program NEW you need following: submit application and DVD of your suggested performance.

Du THÉÂTRE GÉORGIEN (VU à Tbilissi) : pendant ma semaine là-bas, j’ai pu découvrir quelques facettes de la scène géorgienne. Notamment un « Julius Caesar » de Shakespeare tel que l’a revu le grand metteur en scène Robert Sturua. Une proposition maîtrisée, efficace dans son traitement scénographique qui utilise toutes les dimensions du grand plateau du Théâtre Rustaveli, dans la caractérisation et le traitement du jeu des personnages, dans leur « ballet ». « Les Bonnes » de Genet au Royal District Theatre, plus que convaincante réunion de trois des meilleures comédiennes géorgiennes, qui prouvent leur excellence. Au même théâtre, « The poor one », une comédie bien enlevée. Au « Fingers Theatre », « Play at table », une proposition silencieuse où un personnage improbable et des objets se croisent, se heurtent et se conjuguent poétiquement, surréalistement, drôlement. Une bonne semaine de théâtre, là-bas… et tant qu’on y est : regardez bien ces critiques de théâtre du monde entier devant le Ministère de la Culture…
