Her upcoming set, titled “Interrupted Transmission,” carries a powerful story. In Sabina’s own words:
“Finally playing the set that never got to finish. I’m gonna name this set ‘Interrupted Transmission’—dedicated to the unfinished set on December 27, 2025, at ʟᴀʙʏʀɪɴᴛʜ. Six months later, the transmission resumes. See you on the dancefloor.”

Introducing our Artist in Residence: Sabina Alishova aka ✨

We’re excited to welcome to Untitled Residency.

Based in Baku, Sabina is a DJ, multidisciplinary artist, and resident of RPM / Labyrinth Project. Her sound moves freely across house, UK garage, liquid DnB, trance, and beyond, blending groove, emotion, and storytelling.

Through her alter ego DJ TATAMI, she explores hypnotic techno, experimental ambient, and deeper electronic textures. Known for genre-fluid sets and creating immersive dancefloor journeys, she believes music is less about categories and more about connection, energy, and the right moment.

Sabina arrived in Tbilisi at the beginning of June and will spend one month with us developing her research and engaging with Tbilisi’s music scene.

📌 deadline - May 15, 2026

As part of the Creative Europe project DigiLiveAiR, we are looking forward to commission three artists or artist groups from the South Caucasus based in a Creative Europe country to develop performance-based movies that research gender equality through an anti-colonial, time-traveling perspective.

We are looking for new works that involve critical, poetic or research-led explorations through body-based performance art, where the body becomes a living vessel to reclaim the past as a research lab for the future. At this crossroads, the present serves as a site of resistance, where to dream speculative futures rooted in ancestral realities.

Selected artists will develop their works within a digital artist residence curated by and .rodionov / .tbilisi in the period from June - October 2026.

The resulting films will be showcased in a public exhibition at the in Italy in December 2026, and become part of the online platform .

📌Commission: EUR 2900 for the creation of a new original performance-based film
📌Eligibility: Artists or artists groups from the South Caucasus based in a Creative Europe programme country
📌Runtime: June 15 - October 15 / 2026

Field notes from the Monument of Friendship. 🔊

Our first artist-in-residence, Varoujan Chetirian - ._.jan , captured during his research phase for a new project curated by Untitled Tbilisi.

We invited Varoujan to engage with the complex legacy of the Soviet-era “Monument of Friendship between Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Georgian Youth.” Through site-specific field recordings, he is tracing the layered histories and political echoes of this site-transforming “friendship” from a static monument into a living sonic inquiry.

As a project initiated and curated by Untitled Tbilisi, we are proud to bring this research to life across both physical and digital platforms:

We are thrilled to announce our first artist-in-residence in our new art residency space: Varoujan Chetirian - ._.jan

At untitled residency, we hold space for practices that engage with identity, visibility, and resistance-specifically within politically complex and transitional contexts. We prioritize research as an artistic practice, offering time to think and transform through place-based experience.

Varoujan Chetirian is a Berlin based Swiss-Armenian sound artist and studio engineer. His projects are often driven by in-depth field research, involving residencies and site-specific creations, prioritizing field recording and active listening followed by studio production.

Alongside his work as a sound artist, he also composes sound pieces for audiovisual or mixed media. In 2024 he founded NOPA – festival for sonic arts, the first sound art and experimental music festival in Yerevan, Armenia.

He recently graduated from the Sound Studies and Sonic Arts Master at the UdK Berlin.

April 2nd–7th, Varoujan will be with us to develop the research phase of a project that will be presented in Tbilisi this May.

on rolling basis
tbilisi invites artists and curators to engage with questions of identity, power, intimacy, and resistance. We specifically centre q***r, feminist, and decolonial positions within fragile or politically complex contexts.

At our residency, research is the practice. We offer time, space, and a critical community-not production pressure. There is no requirement to finish a work; we value the process of thinking, failing, and imagining alternative futures.

📍 The Locations
Choose one or move between both:

Tbilisi: A fully equipped one bedroom apartment in a urban residential district.

Kaprashiani: A wooden house in a remote village nature environment (up to 5 people).

🛠 What We Provide
Duration: 2 weeks to 2 months.
Support: Accommodation, basic tools/electronic equipment, and all utilities/internet.
Network: Access to the local art scene and guidance on the Georgian cultural context.
Curatorial feedback and formal invitation letters for funding applications.

📋 Eligibility & Terms
Who: Individual artists or partners (18+) working in Performance, Video, Sound, Digital Art, Text, or Interdisciplinary research.

Focus: Projects must align with social justice and critical research.

Funding: Costs are covered independently by the artist, through external institutions, or via joint funding applications with Untitled Tbilisi.

’s Moving Image Program invites .tbilisi to present “Salt for Svanetia” (1930), a landmark of early cinema and one of the most striking works of Soviet silent film.

Often cited as a foundational work of ethnographic and political cinema, the screening marks the beginning of a curatorial research trajectory at Bangkok Kunsthalle that explores salt as an active material—central to healing practices, ritual protection, bodily regulation, and food preservation, while also inseparable from histories of labour, extraction, and political control. This research unfolds toward an upcoming exhibition by Thai artist Wantanee Siripattananuntakul.

Following the screening, untitled tbilisi will host a talk on collective practice at the crossroads of art, activism, and social justice.
