Our Story
Georgian Technical University ensemble Merani was founded in 1934 by famous Georgian dancer Gano Bagrationi. From 1993 until now ensemble has been leading by Georgian art honored Art workers Mr. Teimuraz Kobakhidze and Mrs. Nino Lazishvili.
Merani represented its performance in more than 30 countries. The list of visited countries includes: Netherlands, Belgium, Syria, Turkey, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, India, Tunis, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece and France. In the recent years Merani successfully represented its unique culture in Italy, USA, Cyprus, Qatar, Estonia and Germany.
Ensemble Merani is the owner of Bursa International folk dance festival Grand-Prix (Altin Karagoz), as well as Syria international festival Grand Prix and several Georgian national festivals main prizes. From 2010, Merani is the member of UNESCO CID.
