The Piper Loogaroo Poster:
As the official design house for Piper, we are always fortunate to expand the depths of our creativity with him, and "Loogaroo" is no exception. "Loogaroo" is the second official release off of the upcoming mixtape "Now or Never". A Loogaroo in Caribbean Folklore is described as a human turned witch like, vampire like creature. The Loogaroo gets his/her powers from Bazil by the silk cotton tree and sheds its skin at night and goes searching for blood; the loogaroo can also fly through the air as a ball of fire.
Now back to the graphic:
We decided to catch Piper mid-transformation. The first step was to create the eerie mood; we used deep, dark red tones with a black base and dark shadows. Then came time to integrate the lore... We created the effect that Piper's skin is peeling as though he's getting ready to shed it, his eyes are glowing, and the face underneath the peel is rough and weird looking. We added some fire behind him to give the feeling that he was ready to fly. In the background is our interpretation of Bazil sitting at the silk cotton tree. The "Loogaroo" font is sharp and "hot" looking, and is that way to signify fangs "vampire" and fire.
