Today saw the release of Panedeni’s brand new EP, Atamanaa.

Meaning “I hope”, Atamanaa brings together Welsh and Arabic musical traditions in a rich and uplifting collection of songs performed in four languages. Created through collaborations with artists from different backgrounds and traditions, the EP is a celebration of connection, culture and the power of music to bring people together.

Featuring guest collaborations with Sion Rickard and Ayoub Boukhalfa, the EP blends oud, guitar, violin, clarinet, flutes, Egyptian percussion, bass and vocals to create a vibrant multicultural sound. Expect everything from reimagined folk melodies and Welsh border pipes to infectious belly dance rhythms.

Want to hear it live? Panedeni will be performing songs from Atamanaa here at The Welfare on next Friday, 26th June.

As part of Men's Health Week, The Welfare Ystradgynlais and The BloomSpace Foundation are launching Man Made - a new project created for men to get together, learn new skills, be creative and connect with others.

We're exploring a range of arts activities funded by Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales, from wood carving and printmaking to other hands-on creative sessions. The project will be open to all men, and no previous experience is needed.

Before we get started, we'd love to hear from you.

What activities would you like to try? What would encourage you to get involved?

Take a couple of minutes to complete our short survey here: https://forms.gle/eTQdHYDqoVAmschy5 or email [email protected] with your ideas and suggestions.

Help us shape Man Made into something you'd genuinely want to be part of.
