It would seem we at YSP are not content with auditioning for one show, but we are auditioning for two shows.

This time we can provide more information, if you haven't already managed to get it out of Rosy and Stuart already, that this years Sonnets will be tennis themed! (No I have NOT been looking up tennis soundbites I can use for future posts!)

Without further ado, here is some information should you wish to audition.

We are delighted to welcome Rosy Rowley and Stuart Green to direct and write our
open-air production which will again be performed in the grounds of Holy Trinity,
Goodramgate. They have come up with a wonderful plot based at the
“Goodramgate Lawn Tennis Club”, as four doubles teams compete for the
opportunity to play in a prestigious amateur tournament at Wimbledon. Partnerships and rivalries lead to sabotage - and a series of break points! Hence this year’s show title: What the Deuce?

As ever, our sonneteers will deliver a sonnet interwoven into a modern story line
featuring a wide variety of colourful, larger than life characters. That’s 14 lines of
Shakespeare and a lot of fun.

Rehearsals will start in early July and performances will run 7-15 August.
We welcome actors from all backgrounds and levels of experience. If cast, you will
be supported throughout and we will work with you to develop your skills and ensure you have an enjoyable and fulfilling time.

Auditions will take place at Holy Trinity on either Monday 1 st June or Tuesday 2 nd
June, from 6pm.

Please email [email protected] to indicate your interest and your
preferred date (or to say if neither date suits you; we will do our best to
accommodate you).
There will also be a google form, which will go out on our stories, so do keep checking back with us.

See you there

📣📣 YSP public service announcement 📣📣

Announcement of the Directors(!) for The Comedy of Errors and Audition Call Out.

YSP is delighted to announce that Katie Leckey and Emily Carhart will be the Co-directors of our production of The Comedy of Errors which will run October 21-24 at Theatre@41.

Katie and Emily have previously worked together on YSCP’s Loot and Griffonage Theatre’s FourToldand they promise an exciting take on Shakespeare’s shortest and possibly funniest play:

"This early Shakespearean farce is reimagined with a piratical twist: set sail to the corrupt island of Ephesus, a land rife with crime, debauchery, swashbuckling action... and a fair bit of slapstick.’

Now all they need is a cast! Auditions will take place at Southlands Methodist Church from 2pm-5pm on the 16th and 17th, and from 6.30-9.30pm on the 18th and 19th May.

If you are interested in auditioning, please email [email protected] for more information.
