WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK FOR THS PERFORMANCE ACADEMY (A TANG HALL SMART PROJECT) IN YORK? 🎶🎨🪩

We have a fixed term contract available for a Dance Tutor as part of our THS Performance Academy.

This role will involve co-planning and co-leading the dance sessions on a Saturday morning, where we create original work, learn routines and develop technique. The role will also involve supporting the artist development sessions on a Saturday afternoon.

THS Performance Academy is for creative individuals with learning disabilities to be able to develop, thrive and succeed in the creative arts industry whilst being supported to create original and unique pieces of music, dance and drama. A high level of dance experience is a requirement for this role and the right candidate will also be patient, encouraging, resourceful and creative. It is desirable, but not essential, that the candidate has experience of working with young people with additional needs, or dance teaching in community contexts.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who are still studying or are recent graduates of dance or movement based qualifications who have the confidence to co-lead sessions and are looking to further develop their skills in a tutoring role.

The post is for Saturdays between the hours of 9.45am and 2:15pm (sessions 10am-2pm), beginning on Saturday 17th January and ending on Saturday 28th March. There is a possibility of extension of this contract into the summer term and beyond.

We had an awesome few days gearing up for our new THS Performance Academy starting in September! ⭐️

Some of our amazingly talented people spent the start of this week working on their professional performance skills, performer profiles, artwork skills and how to refine and hone their creativity independently. 🤘

Our academy is still recruiting creative and talented people with a learning disability aged 16-30 on a Friday and Saturday from 10am - 2pm. 🎸

We are excited to be offering these amazing summer schools for talented young people with a learning disability aged 16-30 for FREE! ⭐️

Tang Hall SMART and THS Performance Academy will be running these workshops at our base in Burnholme. We are looking to offer this special opportunity to people who have not attended THS before or for quite some time.

This is a taster session full of great workshops for our upcoming performance academy that will offer young creatives with a learning disability who have a talent in music, dance or drama the opportunity to refine their skills and get tutoring from professionals and performance opportunities in venues around York. 🎶🎭

⭐️🎶🎭 EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐️🎶🎭

Hello everybody! THS Performance Academy is now live for expressions of interest! We want to hear from anyone with a learning disability aged 16-30 who has a passion for music, drama or dance who wants to improve their skills and learn some new ones!

Sessions will run from our usual base at Burnholme on Friday and Saturdays from 10am - 2pm.

THS Performance Academy will support exceptional performers with learning disabilities to aim for excellence and have opportunities to develop their artist portfolio through live performances, workshops and content creation!

THS Performance Academy is the newest venture of Tang Hall SMART, a creative arts organisation that for over a decade has supported young people and adults with learning disabilities to access creative arts learning.
