Caroline Lewis Fine Art

Caroline Lewis Fine Art Pet Portrait wildlife a people portrait Artist specialising in pastels, coloured and graphite pencil. All I need is simply a very good photo to work from.

I’ve always drawn from a young age and liked to paint and draw people, landscapes and animals. However, my favourite subject are animals which I am hugely passionate about. In the past few years I have painted many pets, including my own and commissions for friends and family. I’ve spent many hours creating pet portraits using high quality paper and pastels to deliver a picture that captures the u

nique character and individuality in each animal. As a member of the York Art Society I exhibit my art in small galleries around North Yorkshire and have received great enthusiasm and interest in my work. Exhibition History:

St Michael Le Belfry York - December 2013
The East Riding Painting Society The Arts Centre, Pocklington - October/November 2013
St Michael Le Belfry York - October 2013
York Art Society Exhibition The De Grey Rooms - October 2013
Easingwold Art Exhibition The Galtres Centre - October 2013
The Forge Foggerthorpe - September 2013

One for International Women’s Day, my first ever pastel portrait on Velour.
In 1985 Sherbet Gula became the face of the National Geographic’s most iconic photograph.
Back in 1984, she was a student at an informal school in a refugee camp in Afghanistan when Steve
Mc curry captured her image during an assignment.
Murray at the time didn’t record her name, Nevertheless when her portrait graced the cover of the National geographic it instantly became the most recognisable photograph in the magazines history.

First peice of the year finished ✨
Bathed in the last warmth of the sun, this barn owl felt almost otherworldly as it emerged on my ease.
I was drawn to the warm reflection in its eyes - the meeting point between day and night, light and shadow.
There’s something ancient and mystical about these guardians of the fields especially in the fleeting moment before dusk gives way to darkness.
I have a couple of titles in mind for this peice but I’d love to know what you would call it.

Hi all sorry it’s been a while but all these weeks of rainy dark weather have not been very inspiring or ideal for painting.
I’ve had a photo that’s been calling me to paint it for a while and looking at it the other day I felt inspired to give it a go, here’s a sneaky peak.
I hope you can tell what it is!
