Jet cars at Melbourne just hit different here. Never can you get as up close and personal with a flame thundering jet car as you can at Melbourne.

Come and see Mark Flavell, the track record holder for a piston powered vehicle, 4.67! Can he knock that one down this weekend and go even quicker? Come up to Melbourne to find out?!

Ian Lee will be back, can he finally find that elusive 4 second pass!! He’s ran a 5.00. He is soooooooo so close. Will this be the meeting?!

A quick look back at a brilliant weekend for our aspiring drag racers! On Sunday our junior
series just kept going from strength to strength!!! With all the hype around Street Weekend you’d be forgiven for not seeing their amazing progress!!! Hettie the now third generation racer from the Rushworth family debuted the School Trip slingshot and what a car it is!!!! Many of you will know Ben from EDA Engine Data Analysis that is the place to go round here for dynos and engine development.

The Sprit Dragster too got its first round win this weekend and Tina also debuted their new slingshot with a lot of success!!! Looked awesome seeing them all lined up together.

Well Done!!!

With the euphoria of Street Weekend departing the property late Saturday afternoon the rest of the weekend was left for the Straightliners domestic championships to unfold as well as round 3 of the Melbourne Championship.

With the dust settled after what is the biggest multi venue series in British Drag Racing, can we take a moment to say a huge thank you to Max, James, Callum and everyone else from Santa Pod Raceway in helping put Street Weekend together. Thank you to all the competitors and teams who massively pulled it out the bag putting on a great show in spite of the crap weather!!!

Huge thank you also goes to the Straightliners crew and all the others that got stuck in and helped us co-ordinate this event at Melbourne and Evington. Thank you also to Corteco and all the sponsors that backed this event.

And finally thank you everyone who braved the weather to come and these cars in action!!!!! What a blast.

Thought this photo of Sam Agnew’s Trans Am going to bed for the night marks the end of an epic weekend nicely.
