Looking forward to taking part in Sculpture North’s first major group exhibition co-curated with Mark Taliana, a media editor based in London.
Sculpture North presents a range of works from leading and emerging contemporary sculptors working today. With an emphasis on natural mediums including stone, bronze, marble, wood, clay, and glass, the exhibition highlights the enduring connection between artist and material, tradition and reinvention. These works reflect a deep engagement with the tactile and elemental, demonstrating how contemporary sculpture continues to evolve through both time-honoured techniques and experimental approaches.
As well as my work, the exhibition showcases works by: Arabella Brooke, Helen Sinclair, Frippy Jameson, Hamish Mackie and others, alongside works by gallery co-owners David, Mandy, Keith, Pete, Drew and Steve - each with a unique perspective and a deep engagement with material, form, and place.
Beyond the artworks themselves, Sculpture North also serves as a platform to showcase the North and The Sculpture Gallery as a thriving hub for artistic excellence. By bringing together a range of voices and perspectives, this exhibition highlights the rich and varied contributions of today’s sculptors, reinforcing the region’s growing reputation as a centre for creative innovation.
This exhibition is an opportunity to see new and compelling work from outside the local area and at the same time build a wider network of artists and raise the profile of the gallery.
Join us on Sunday 1st June from 12:30 to 4:30pm and help us celebrate the North as a thriving hub for contemporary sculpture.
