Excited to go there - tickets on sale from today!
Hope to see you there:)
Not long now until tickets go on sale for this year's York Early Music Festival and we're delighted to be able to give you a sneak preview before our gorgeous brochure hits the streets http://www.ncem.co.uk/?idno=151. This year's theme is The Shock of the New, taking its inspiration from the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci. The festival opens with I Fagiolini's breathtaking performance of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo with singing, acting and puppetry. Over nine days we'll be bringing you a host of the best specialist and innovative performers and musicians whose work proves that in early music, as in all art, nothing stands still. There's also the chance to catch the finalists of our York Early Music International Young Artists Competition performing two informal concerts before the competition itself. As an added bonus, our media partners, BBC Radio 3’s Early Music will be broadcasting live from the NCEM’s base at St Margaret’s Church. Tickets are on sale to NCEM patrons on Monday 4 March, to York Early Music Festival Friends on Wednesday 6 March and public booking opens on 11 of March. We've also got some great deals on weekend tickets plus fantastic discounts for under 35s for many concerts. Many events sell out quickly so don’t delay.
