As we get ready for our first show of the season, we just want to take a moment to acknowledge all the hard work that's been done over the summer to make our theatre a better place to visit for both performers and audience.

We have a brand new sound system! Cupboards in our rehearsal spaces for companies to store props! Updated studio lighting! A free period product dispenser in the ladies' toilets! Refurbished dressing rooms! And a freshly painted and cleaned studio!

A massive thanks to everyone who's sanded, painted, installed, dusted, varnished, repaired and more this summer - we're excited to open our doors again tonight and show it all off!

Come see 'The Ballad of Blea Wyke' this October in our studio - a haunting collaboration of story, music, poetry and song.

A young woman wants to see the sea. A stranger stands on a cliff. The last grey seal swims towards the shore. Cerys, on her eighteenth birthday, breaks the city's lockdown and seeks the cliffs that birthed her as she is drawn back to her mythic past.

With a rich backdrop of harmonies, 'The Ballad of Blea Wyke' is an evocative spoken word experience which unites traditional Selkie myth with a not-too-distant future on the North Yorkshire coast.

Life is one long slog for four fish factory packers from Hull - Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. But their fortunes are set to change when they head to York races in Amanda Whittington's 'Ladies Day' - coming to Theatre@41 next week.

Factory hairnets make way for fascinators as the four friends hit the races for an unforgettable and hilarious day out. Secrets are spilled, along with copious amounts of champagne, and their friendships are tested to the limits in this new production of this modern classic from Marmite Theatre (The Vicar of Dibley).
