Copmanthorpe Carnival, York's biggest and best Carnival, started in the 1960's and now into its 6th decade. This superb family event has grown from a small traditional village event into a citywide spectacle, and is now proud to be York's best Carnival making summertime in York so much more exciting! The Copmanthorpe Carnival boasts everything from an amazing live music and dance stage, family act

ivities, fairground, shopping, food, drink and so much more making this such a fantastic day out for you your friends and family’s. Come and join all of York for a fantastic summertime day out to remember!

A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us at Cop Carnival — what a brilliant afternoon, organised by a team of dedicated volunteers. It was great to see such a big crowd, so many familiar faces, and we loved being part of such a fantastic local event. More photos to follow, but if you've any photos, please share them in the comments below.

We've no time to rest though… festival season continues this weekend with Burton Leonard Village Feast on Saturday 6:30pm, before rushing home to watch England football team, then its WoodFest (Woodthorpe York Community Group) on Sunday 3:30pm!

More music, singalongs, and sunshine! See you out there!

Wow what-a-day....
Thank you so much to everyone who has come down today to support our community event!!

The Copmanthorpe Recreation Centre was full to the seams for Cop' Carnival 2026.

Whilst we had challenges (outside of our control) we adapted and overcame them, as we always try to, and that what's communities do!

We spend nearly a year planning Carnival (and May Fair) and sometimes when a curve ball gets thrown, we have to jump into action which we hope everyone saw!

All the committee hope you have loved seeing all the singers, dancers, performers, stall holders and attractions rides, throughout the day in all their various formats. Again, the weather has been kind.. phewy

We have thoroughly enjoyed it, we sincerely hope you have too!

As our community please do let us know if there is any room for improvement!

So, as your 2026 events comes to a close, we hope to see each and every one of you again next year.

It ‘twas the night before Carnival!!

Our volunteers have been so hard at work this week and we’re all ready tomorrow! To make sure we’re all ready for you tomorrow we’re all taking a chance at an early night as we’ll be back down at the Copmanthorpe Recreation Centre bright and early to make sure the day is perfect for you all!
