York Lindy Swing dancing in York. Beginners swing dance lessons. Every Thursday at 7:30 pm, Belfrey Hall in York. Complete beginners welcome. No partner required. Tickets £8.

Concession tickets £6 (for students, pensioners and those with financial difficulties). We are a not-for-profit organisation passionate about sharing the fun and energy of jazz dances from 1920s, 30s and 40s. Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before, classes are suitable for absolute beginners and we’ll introduce something new each week. Classes are run on a volunteer basis and all money raised g

ets invested back into providing opportunities to learn and social dance and might include booking live bands, venues and planning workshops with teachers from other areas.

As if a whole day of events wasn't enough, we also have a social dance tomorrow!

World Lindy Hop Day (26 May) commemorates the birthday of Frankie Manning who was one of the original innovators of the Lindy Hop at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York during the 1930s and 40s.

Come and celebrate all things Lindy Hop, listen to great music and have fun with other dancers on the dance floor.

Our Thursday classes are back! We kicked off our new class structure last night - thank you to everyone who came along and made it a very, very fun evening!

We have moved away from our three week courses. Each week will focus on a different aspect of Swing Dancing, so you can come along to any Thursday class and not have to worry about catching up on previous weeks!

Beginners class: 7:30pm
Improvers class: 8:45pm
