York Lindy Swing dancing in York. Beginners swing dance lessons. Every Thursday at 7:30 pm, Belfrey Hall in York. Complete beginners welcome. No partner required. Tickets £8.

Concession tickets £6 (for students, pensioners and those with financial difficulties). We are a not-for-profit organisation passionate about sharing the fun and energy of jazz dances from 1920s, 30s and 40s. Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before, classes are suitable for absolute beginners and we’ll introduce something new each week. Classes are run on a volunteer basis and all money raised g

ets invested back into providing opportunities to learn and social dance and might include booking live bands, venues and planning workshops with teachers from other areas.

Last Thursday in Improvers we out heel dogs EVERYWHERE! :D

Last Thursday we learned the Frankie sixes sequence in our beginners class. :)

This Thursday coming will be our last class until September! It will be a special class learning the classic Charleston stroll routine followed by social dancing.

Last Thursday in improvers we adapted 6 count moves into 8 counts and 4 counts, giving room for more musicality and creativity in our social dancing! We also learned the classic sailor kicks move. :)

This Thursday we started our July block of Lindy Hop with 6 count footwork, immediately followed by our monthly social dance. ^^
