6 years ago after decades in York we moved back to our roots 3 miles from the city centre.
🧵We have always held our classes here, and it has given us room to expand our offering of everything we can connected with hand and machine sewing.
🧵Our ground floor sets out our tapestry wools and canvases, plus our framing and cushion making up and mail order.
🧵Upstairs we have great rooms for all our cotton quilting fabrics, needlework, beading and a whopping, light, airy classroom.

This is a beast. Remarkably like a medieval torture rack. The idea is to apply gentle, even pressure to undo the distortion caused by stitching. It takes a lot of care, steam and time. It can take days to ease the tapestry back into shape , ready for making up or framing. The steaming also helps to clean the wools and settle the stitches more evenly. It is worth the time spent.

This is now ready to go! Meant to use as front and back of a " bench pillow" (long cushion or even a bolster). Would also look great as a pair of sofa throws or a trim for a spooky cloak!
