WE CAN NOW UNVEIL: LAUGHTONBURY!

We ordered the University to build us a whole village (you may have seen and heard a lot of construction work on Campus West) for 72 hours of dedicated comedy consumption, and we are now slicing the red ribbon on Laughtonbury. It will be open for Thursday 30th April (in V/N/045), Friday 1st May (in ENV/005), and Saturday 2nd May (in ENV/005), and within you will find a veritable feast of fantastic festivity - from hooked Ducks to summoning Satan, there’s something for everyone. In fact, we've left a guidebook in the comments for each day so you don’t get lost!

For those of you who wish to purchase a day of whimsical wonder, admittance to the festival is priced at £2.50 for members and £4.50 for non-members. And for our true connoisseurs of comedy, you can gain access to ALL THREE DAYS at the price of £6 for members and £10 for non-members. Now, I’m no mathematician, but compared to a regular boring festival, £10 or less for three days of jam-packed content is an absolute steal.

We look forward to welcoming you in!

Eva Peroni
Joe Alec

Take a good look!

You may have seen our exclusive preview reel (if not, go do it now. If you have, maybe watch it again just to be sure) but Comedysoc paparazzi have been hard at work hiding in bushes outside the homes of our Taskmaster contestants to secure for you a proper portrait of them. From left to right:

Alex Minihan
Ben Severn
Elliot Rushton
Joe Alec
Harry-Jack Thompson

To see these elusive figures in the flesh, come to V/N/045 on Thursday 23rd April at 8pm, where we'll have lured them with a trail of biscuit crumbs. Little do they know that once they're on that stage, they will be forced to confront their past actions and justify them before the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Taskmaster.

The Taskmaster requires funds to feed his assistant and avoid further investigations, so this show will cost £2.50 for members and £4.50 for non-members!

Goodness gracious, what could this be? A sneaky secret surprise show? Fear not, this isn’t an April Fools Day prank, despite it taking place on Wednesday the 1st of April. Indeed, from 7:30pm The Lounge (Roger Kirk Centre) shall be hosting the York Comedy Society’s own Dead Ducks, in addition to the finest comics from the classiest comedy societies throughout the (United) Kingdom.
