We're thrilled to announce Jennifer Coleman as our soprano for 2026.

Jennifer first performed for us seven years ago in 2019 and returned in 2023 for the Night at the Musicals themed show, to perform the more classic soprano songs and the finale.

Since 2025, Jennifer has been singing full time in the chorus of the Royal Opera, Covent Garden. Between 2018-2025 she sang with the chorus at Opera Vlaanderen (The Flemish Opera) in Antwerp and Ghent, Belgium. Jennifer is a diverse performer whose career spans opera, concerts, television, and recitals. She trained for her Diploma and Masters degrees at the Royal College of Music, London, where she was scholar.

When she’s not singing, Jennifer says she can generally be found at Parkrun, drinking tea out of china teacups, or tucking into some delicious Belgian chocolates.

📢Announcement: West End Star Ashley Stilburn joins the York Proms 2026!

York lad who headed off to the Big Smoke and carved out a fantastic career in musical theatre is returning to York for a special performance this summer as the male soloist for the York Proms. ☀️

Ashley was a regular performer in York amateur productions and even worked with York Proms founder, Rebecca Newman, in a Bev Jones show in 2010.

Since graduating from the Guildford School of Acting in 2014 Ashley has played top principal and leading male roles including Enjolras in Les Miserable, The Phantom and also Raoul in the Phantom of the Opera, and has appeared on Elaine Paige on Sunday on BBC Radio 2.

Ashley is excited to be back in York to perform for the York Proms audience in the stunning setting of the Museum Gardens.
