We had some great press profile for a small (if mighty) classical music festival in rural north Yorkshire!

We're entering the final weekend of the festival!

Still to come Wild Arts Opera with The Marriage of Figaro (tonight!), and the Last Night Outdoor Concert with fireworks in the beautiful grounds of Aldborough Manor - with Definitely Oasis tribute band. Dance the night away and bring a picnic!

Voicing our excitement is soprano Rachel Munro accompanied by pianist Jia Ning Ng, who won last year's New Voices Singing Competition - and performed a remarkable recital at this year's festival....sound ON!

Things are DEFINITELY hotting up – and not just the temperature! The semi-finalists of the New Voices Singing Competition were announced last night, after two live semi-finals. The grand final takes place tonight at 7.00pm at St Andrew’s Church, Aldborough. Tickets available on the door.

Before that, there’s a chance to hear last year’s winning recital – with Rachel Munro (soprano) and Jia Ning Ng (piano) at 11am this morning.

It’s hot outside, but the church is beautifully cool!

The 2026 Semi-Finalists (photographed here during rehearsals, or on their way to the semi finals here), are:

1. Harrison Robb (baritone) with Catriona Mackenzie (piano)
2. Archie Inns (tenor) with Daniel Silcock (piano)
3. Elisabeth Lee (soprano) with Alfonso Sanchez Perez
4. Tom Lilburn (counter-tenor) with Jack Redman (piano)
