Included in the programme are the lovely Japanese folk song ‘Sakura’ (cherry blossoms), gutsy open-throated Bulgarian songs, haunting African melodies with the call and response structure - and much much more! A rare opportunity to hear such culturally diverse works in a beautiful church setting. Not to be missed!

💫 Performance Opportunity
Prima is an independent, progressive choir in historic York, bringing together experienced singers committed to thoughtful, high-quality music-making.

We explore an eclectic repertoire through both large-scale performances and more intimate ensemble work. While we don’t hold formal auditions, we value confident musicianship, curiosity and the ability to work at pace in a supportive setting.

At present, we’d particularly welcome enquiries from skilled tenors and basses with musical experience.
