Soon Amore are a York-based chamber choir who enjoy singing a range of unaccompanied music from across the ages and cultures. We rehearse on Monday evenings in York city centre, and always welcome anyone who wants to consider joining us, but especially tenors. The name Soon Amore comes from the Welsh words "swn y mor", meaning "sound of the sea". We were started in 2002 by a group of friends looki

A huge shout out to yesterday’s audience -you made yesterday‘s concert another lovely event! We are so pleased you seem to have enjoyed yourself based on the lovely comments we received. Some impressive audience participation as well 🎶🎶.
Our poetry readers and writers, all singers of classic and the original arrangements by choir members and Bartram, it only works when there’s an audience! And Chris brought out the best in all of us again.
It was another true Soon Amore happening 😊, thank you!

It’s 🎶concert day today, Sunday 12 July! hope to see you there. And why not come early to enjoy the butterflies and flowers in the gorgeous York Victorian cemetery first? Then join us at 5 in their chapel for what we think will be an uplifting and wonderful concert celebrating Songs of Day and Night, as always with some poetry reading and audience participation as well. It would not be a Chris Bartram led Soon Amore concert otherwise, would it?

Last rehearsal done and dusted before our summer concert Songs of Day and Night , this Sunday The 12th🎶
A true Soon Amore programme, combining classic songs with modern , premiering pieces and poetry readings. All with the fabulous Chris Bartram as our MD.

In just 3 weeks it is ...🎼🎶concert time🎵! We hope to welcome old and new friends in the lovely York Cemetery, UK chapel on Cemetery Road, at 5 PM, July 12. Chris Bartram will lead us in a programme reaching across time and styles, from F***y Hensel to a spiritual and living composers and a lot in between. Hope to see you there!
If you have thought of joining a choir ...we will be recruiting after this concert, so this could be a great chance to see who we are, what we do and have a chat!
