Hi everyone.
With an ongoing Health issue with my hearing for the last 9 weeks, I’m afraid I need to announce that all my solo gigs have now been cancelled and I am going to retire from solo gigging from immediate effect but all contracted and charity solo gigs will still go ahead as planned for this year. The Elvis band and Memphis 56 gigs are all still going ahead as we only do 1 to 2 a month, this is something I should be able to cope with. I have seen some specialists regarding this matter, and I have been diagnosed with Hyperacusis Reactive tinnitus due to loss of hearing . This should sort itself out within 12 to 18 months hopefully. I need to thank all my friends and family for their support over the last 9 weeks as it’s been a bit of a nightmare and at times hard to handle. My left ear sounds like a broken speaker all the time, but the ringing has dropped quite a bit. My right ear is like high frequency feedback all the time but learning to deal with it.
I’m having special hearing aids made with fantastic technology built in so this will make it easier to sing with the band, reduce the level of ringing and still enjoy nights out.
Most of all I would like to thank my wife, Elsa. You have been my rock over the last 9 weeks and the last 15 years. I wouldn’t be without you.
So, keep rockin and I’ll see you somewhere at some point

I would like to take this time to wish Barrie Russell all the best in the future. He played a fantastic last gig and he will be missed by all off us. Now you've retired you can sit and relax my friend. Secondly I would like to say a big Thank you to Steve Bee for helping us out Saturday. What a fantastic double bass player this guy is. Thirdly I'll like to welcome Adrian Tucker into Memphis 56 as our new Drummer. Take care all . Keep Rockin.
