It was another lovely gathering at Poppins today with several grandparents as well as parents coming with children and babies.
The Here and There board is filling up. Can you guess the themes we’ve had so far?
The forecast says the weekend will be warm sunny, so, whilst it may not have felt like summer today, the focus was on the sea. Deep sea even with whales and seaweed, dolphins and sharks for the children to populate their sheets of paper sea.
Poppins is on every week until 22 July, when we break up for the summer holidays, - 9.15 to 10.45. Still room for a few new faces so do come and join us.

We had a blooming lovely time at Poppins this morning, celebrating blossom and flowers. The children did a marvellous job of adorning the trees with flowers. We learned some new songs and enjoyed a story about how friendships blossom.
Do come and join us next week 9.15 to 10.45 on Wednesday.

It was our second session of the term this week. The theme for summer is ‘Here and There’. Today was a Here occasion as we explored the garden for wildlife. The craft activity being decorated, as you can see, by the small people was snails. They’d earned their snacks and story time I think.
If you care for preschool children why not come along. We’re at St Paul’s Church Hall every term time Wednesday, 9.15 to 10.45. No charge just a request for any donation you can manage to help towards costs.

This week Poppins we were getting ready for Mother’s Day with these beautiful flower baskets. Some of the children also began practising how to help tidy up. So we hope all the mothers who come to Poppins have a wonderful day on Sunday and get spoilt rotten by their children.

As it’s Chinese New Year tomorrow, beginning the Year of the Horse, Chinese lanterns were hung around and the children made carnival horses. Giddy up!
There’s no Poppins next week as it’s half term. We hope the sun will shine at least a little more than it has done recently. Happy holidays.
See you again on 25 February.

Life isn’t often as straightforward as black and white, but they are certainly important as colours. And how great these giant pandas look. What a fun way to remember them and how precious they are as part of the world’s ecology.
