A quick catch up on some of the recent activities at The Yelverton.
We played
The Price is Right, Family Fortunes, Word Games, Quizzes True or False, Bingo, plenty of chats down memory lane, armchair flexercise to music and singing, and despite drizzly rain a wee trip out for a cuppa tea and cake. And our Knitting Club was a real hit.

Hello FB family & friends.
An update on highlights over past week.
A week of quizzes, bingo, exercise, ball games, flower arranging, family fortunes game, and great conversations.
1:2:1's and in social gatherings.
Chats about pets, places visited, local and national news, and school.
I asked residents what subject they liked the most at school.
Top Answer was: Going Home😅

Lots of varied activities takes place on a daily basis at The Yelverton.
Highlights.
Trio ladies group 'Faggottinis' playing the Basoons woodwind instruments for an afternoons entertainment (awaiting photographs) and our residents finally enjoying the garden doing a bit of planting and just chilling in each others company. Plenty of drinks, suncream, hats, & lollipops to enjoy in this glorious sunshine 😎

Thank you to The Yelverton Rotary Club inviting us to Annual Spring Tea Party. A huge success and what a great team you all are organising such a event for the local communities. The hard work you all put in makes it such a superb tea party. A huge thank you from The Yelverton Residential Home.

And another wonderful busy engaging week lots of activities daily leading up to a busy weekend.
Here's the highlights .
Saturday 9th May In celebration of VE Day. Wonderful Zoe gave us a great array of 1940's 50''s and a few Pop songs which residents family friends all joined in singing along.
Followed by a yummy tea spread by our Cook Berwin.
A 1950's quiz that got all thinking down memory lane.
And despite a last minute Raffle we raised over £160 towards residents funds.

Rock Inn, Burrator Inn, Cards & Moor, The Larder, Orche Lounge, Morrisons, Sheila's, Tesco's, and all family friends who donated prizes. A wonderful afternoon ❣️

Recyling rather than going to a dump landfill.

An enjoyable varied week of activities.
James & Kay from
WeClotheYou came selling a variety of Women & Men's garments.
It was lovely to see residents and those families that were able to come having that
'going shopping vibe'.
A success all round.
Andrew & Sandra came from TMC Church circuit. Giving an uplifting service singing traditional hymns, prayers, readings, poems, and ending in one of Andrew's humourous stories.
And in between our varied daily activities. 121's
Music exercise, weird history, eye hand coordination action games, brain teasers, quizzes, crafts, and good old fashioned interesting conversations through the varied ages 'down memory lane' and of course today's current news. And not a mobile in sight 😃
