Hollis has been building artists’ opportunities under the Misfit brand with us just shy of 1.5 years and they’re currently wrapping up a successful export mission at Bigsound Australia. ✨ Your New Favourite Artist: Buglando ✨

This one’s for the overthinkers, perfectionists and insect aficionados. For August, we’re excited to spotlight the new Winnipeg sibling project, Buglando! 🐛🐞🐜🪲🕷️ The fun-loving duo writes silly music from the heart, and they’ll be ready to deliver their signature dose of joy and whimsy when they join Nova Scotian troubadour Daniel James McFayden on his Sep 20 tour stop in Winnipeg.

We’ve been fans of group members Sophie (Sophie Stevens) and Emma (Synthetic Friend) as amazing people and in their individual projects, so we can’t wait to catch their new songs live next month.

And yes, there might be a song about bugs. 🐝

✨ Your New Favourite Artist: İdiz ✨

Just in time for the summer heat, this month we’re spotlighting the sultry neo-soul and R&B stylings of Toronto’s İdiz, a Canada-born, Netherlands-raised artist shaped by her East Mediterranean roots who explores themes of identity, duality, love, belonging, and self-discovery in her music. Elise spent a few months getting to know Idiz through some work together this past year and has been inspired by her passion and purpose. We’re stoked to share the newest single by Idiz, Questions (out today!), with you!

Questions is the first of three songs from İdiz’s debut EP, If You Say So, arriving early September. After recent performances at Pride Toronto and the iconic El Mocambo, İdiz is focusing on music with new announcements coming soon. As a co-owner of Misfit, artist manager, organizer, and artist educator, Claire brings incredible value to our company and the music community as a whole. For Pride month, we’re highlighting a very special Sweden-based artist who Elise connected with during Mundial 2026 and later, Hollis was connected to through an industry peer. Both Misfits were magnetized to Fredy Clue for their warm, positive energy, and the vibrancy they exude through simply being themselves and loving those around them. We’re excited to share that energy with you!

Fredy Clue is an award-winning artist and joyful norm-breaker whose authenticity, integrity, and inclusive, introspective spirit we admire. Rooted in Swedish history while redecorating its cultural norms, Fredy Clue’s fusion of ancient folkcraft, Nordic melodies, modern electronic elements and soulful q***r storytelling produces a soothing, mesmerizing neo-traditional sound built from voice and nyckelharpa – an instrument also known as the keyed fiddle or key harp – and you don’t need to know Swedish to bask in its light.

Beyond their boundary-pushing approach to redefining musical traditions, in 2022 Clue took their talents to fashion, where they and Ida Björs designed the first unisex folk costume, the Bäckadräkten, to encourage more people to participate in Swedish folk traditions by offering an outfit unrestricted by gender.
