This most amazing women; Beccy Jones is taking part, as is Martin Scott, in raising money for The Wotton Community PARC. As you are all aware this is an incredible cause and one day in the not too distant future we will be celebrating hockey players raising monies like this in The New Barn.

I would really like to increase Beccys profile in attacking this extraordinary difficult The Cotswold Ultra challenge. It is their aim to walk one hundred thousand metres!!! I will repeat that in case it hasn't sunk in.....

ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND METRES!!!

Please everyone like and share this post ASAP and of course get your wallets out and sponsor these two fantastic people.

Thank you thank you thank you

I am taking on the famous Cotswold Ultra Challenge to raise valuable funds for the Wotton Community PARC. This amazing community facility runs on the goodwill of wonderful folk like you and all monies raised will go towards benefiting a wide range...

Hmmm two years and no PITP so no fundraising for us well apart from winning the £100k Persimmon Homes Award!!!! Thank you to everyone who voted. It truly meant a great deal.

Anyway perhaps we need to have a reshaped Party in The PARC.Any thoughts whether we should try and organise something more intimate!? Anyone out there with any ideas? Indeed would anyone like to be involved in any shape or form. Please don't be shy. Your thoughts are important!!!!

Don't forget, you can vote once every 24 hours!

WCSF - Wotton Community Sports Foundation needs your vote!

Wotton Community Sports Foundation who run Wotton Community PARC next to KLB school are trying to raise funds for a community building in the PARC. The building will be open to all the community, not just the Football, Hockey and Rugby clubs and the parkrun who are based in the PARC. We hope the building will include a café/bar, community room, toilets, kitchen, home, away and official changing rooms and outdoor seating.

We have been shortlisted as 1 of 32 sports projects for the Persimmons Homes Building Futures prize, first prize is £100,000 and you can vote at https://www.persimmonhomes.com/building-futures/finalists

You can vote once every 24 hours until the 19th November. We need all the votes we can get so please ask family, friends and colleagues to support us as well. The IP address of the voter is logged for 24 hours, so please ask anybody in the same household to vote on their phone, not connected to the same Wi-Fi or the vote will not count.

The project with the most votes will win the top prize of £100,000, second prize is £50,000 and third gets £20,000, as a finalist we are going to receive a minimum of £5,000.

Every vote really counts as we can demonstrate to other funding partners the scale of the support this project has and that will be really valuable to us.

Useful tips Q&A

Q. How often can I vote?
A. Once in every 24 hour period. So if you voted at 11:00 this morning you can vote again at 11:01 tomorrow morning.

Q. Why is my partner struggling to vote as well?
A. When you vote your IP address is logged (so people can't vote all day). If somebody else in your household is using the same wi-fi connection to vote it will not recognise them as a different person. The way around this is to vote on your phone, when not connected to the wi-fi.

Q. Do we really stand a chance of winning?
A. Yes, with your help. The 96 finalists are split into 3 categories, Sport, Health and Education. The group with the most votes in each category wins the £100,000, so we have at least a 1 in 32 chance and if you look at some of the other finalists you will see there are smaller clubs on the list. If you combine the Football, Hockey and Rugby Clubs with the adult and junior parkrun and community groups who use the site we are a sizable group. Plus we are getting great support from the wider community.

Q £100,000 will not be enough to build a clubhouse, so what's the point?
A. Persimmons Homes is just one of a number of groups we have spoken to about funding. We are also talking to national sporting bodies, councils and businesses and have already had some positive responses and discussion are ongoing. One company isn't going to fund all of the project, but a group of 5 or 6 might.

Q. What can I do to help?
A. Vote as many times as you can (once every 24 hours) and get family, friends and colleague to vote as well.

The vote closes on the 19th November so you have many more opportunities to vote

To those lovely people who'd bought advance tickets, we've just sent you a refund via PayPal. You should have received an email confirming the refund.

Unfortunately, PayPal have retained a 2.9% handling fee from each transaction for their costs, so we haven't been able to refund you the full amount. If you'd like us to make up the difference so you get your original sum back, message us and we'll work something out.

Thanks to everyone for your support, we're really sorry not to be able to put on this year's event.

Party in the PARC will return in 2021.
Stay safe and keep washing your hands!

Dear all
We are sure that you've all seen the latest UK Government advice that all non-essential social contact should be avoided, to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. We don't yet know how long these restrictions will last, but there is a significant risk that they will extend into June and prevent Party in the PARC 2020 from running.
Reluctantly, we've decided that the most appropriate option is to cancel this year's event. We can't take the risk of committing funds to the event then cancelling at short notice.
We'll announce the date of the 2021 Party in the PARC in due course.
If the conditions improve, we will look to hold some kind of event at the Wotton Community PARC in late summer.
In the meantime, many thanks to those who bought advance tickets - we'll work out refunds for you.
Stay safe!
