So I had a dream during one of my many feverish nights this last week … and in it a wise person reached down to me and told me that I needed star anise and that it would really help me!!

I remembered it later on the next day and discovered some I had bought a few months back in the cupboard…

Never having looked up the medicinal properties before I was amazed to see that it literally is the wonder spice and is touted as being as good as antibiotics at fighting bacteria…

A seriously strong anti viral with a plethora of other important and relevant benefits including pain relief and hormonal support…

Anyway so up until this point I had been finding the paracetamol barely lasting 4 hours… now it may be a coincidence but I made some food last night with star anise in it, I chewed it after and this morning I feel so much better and haven’t had to take paracetamol all day!

Star Anise you’re a proper true super star!

I have been horribly ill the last few days with Covid, which has not been much fun… though it has forced me to stop and appreciate the little things. I am so grateful for this beautiful spring weather and the abundance of colour of all of the gorgeous flowers in my garden, so many butterflies and bees… and Calluna made me some special soup!

And a very hungry caterpillar 🐛

Resourcefulness is hugely important to me and this is reflected through out my work in the methods, processes and materials I use 💚

A lot of love goes in to each piece, sometimes they are created quickly in a flurry of energetic excitement and other pieces are created and nurtured lovingly over months and even years.

I had a lovely time this week bringing my materials along and holding the space for some intuitive mixed media art and banner making for the gorgeous Stroud Sisterhood Women’s Day celebrations at Landsdown gallery. There are some wonderful things happening today and at the weekend, pop in if you are near and see what’s on offer, tea, coffee, cake for donations 🥰🫶💗

Maya who is 13 made this beautiful floral collage, her mum Veronica sent me this photo of it framed and up on the wall in their home, how lovely! 🙌🥰🙏
