So... we are now getting ready to come back to classes! Lots of uniform fittings booked, taster classes booked, staff meetings and CPD booked, tweaking some class plans, various stationery ordered and printed (ooh, we love it!)... There's so much to do and I honestly LOVE getting ready for September 😃 Bring on the routine and familiar faces!

When I hear parents concerned about how well prepared for life their child might be, I want to shout from the rooftops - ‘get them into dance classes’!

Dance class offers an amazing antidote to activities on screens, which require low effort and give quick dopamine hits.

In contrast, dance requires discipline and hard work to achieve goals over time. There are no quick rewards in dance - it demands repetition and focus. This is fantastic for training your child to know the value of high effort and a sense of personal achievement over a longer period of time.

Through dance, children can work on their ‘frustration tolerance’ and persevere to gain longer term rewards. They also learn the importance of being punctual and prepared, listening to their body, and working as a group.

All of this sets them up for functioning well across life as they grow up.

So many of our parents say that this is why they love dance as an extra curricular activity for their child, because they see these 'whole life' benefits in their child’s development.
