When there are high winds, it means that there is a greater chance of our dogs getting loose and lost.

💨 Risk of winds blowing down fences or blowing open gates.
💨 Step out into the garden to check that it’s secure before letting your dog out.
💨 Risk of things blowing over, noises, dogs being spooked and running off on walks.
💨 Make sure microchip and tags are up to date in case the worst happens.
💨 Dogs can’t use their sense of smell so keenly, which means they are at a disadvantage when out and about, and can lose their way back to you.
💨 Keep dogs on lead during their walk, even if familiar.

Dogs die in hot cars!

This message is important all year round however is especially important in the warmer summer months. Some advice here from RSPCA (England & Wales) about what to do if you see a dog locked in a car - link in the first comment.

Police will not hesitate to rescue a dog in distress from a hot car so please just don't take the risk.
