With the sun out and Woody and I both off of work with the boys, today we all headed down to Lancing near Brighton after an impressive amount of faffing to get us out of the house this morning! I've said it before a fair few times - the sun really does make such a difference when it's with us! Everything quite literally feels brighter, plus it gives you so many more options of what to do with your day and I find the mood is often always lighter.
We originally thought we'd go to Lancing as we gathered there's a maize maze we could try out near there ...as it happens it's only open on the weekends but thankfully we worked that out before we got there plus the beach was so much fun we didn't need to do anything else today!
The simplicity of scooting and skating along the front, throwing stones in the sea and even just having the sun on our skin was just lovely 🥰 (Obviously I wasn't the one scooting or skating as clearly the men in our family are far cooler than me! 😂) Throw in a tasty lunch at the Perch on Lancing Beach, we were all in our element and didn't want to leave. That was until the draw of 2p machines were mentioned!
As confirmed on the news tonight, over 75% of UK adults have now had both of their covid jabs as of today but that didn't stop us wearing our masks and feeling a little overwhelmed at just how busy the Brighton Pier Arcades were. A few pounds down we found ourselves leaving with a bit of plastic tat we'd won in hand and hopefully nothing else we're not yet aware of!
Needless to say today felt a brighter day in more ways than one so we had to get a picture of the kids in front of the IamWooze 'Life's a Beach' street art 👌 After everything we and so many other childhood cancer families have experienced it's no wonder so many of us look to make the most of, and try to find some good in every moment! (Tonight's last picture taken on this day when we were trying to do the exact same during George's cancer treatment).
Between us we've got this.
