A rare photo of Minack in the 1930s taken from the rocks backstage. You can see the back wall and the stairs up to the stage. Above are the early terraces, and beyond them the ground is still rough where now the seating stretches up to the rocks on the horizon. You can just see the start of the narrow path below the steps, which the actors used, scrambling over the rocky outcrops to reach their entrances.
