Worcester TheatreMakers

Worcester TheatreMakers Worcester TheatreMakers is now closed. Worcester TheatreMakers is a Theatre Workshop Company set up in early 2014 by Beth Walsh and Bev Bevan.

Beth and Bev are passionate about theatre in all of its forms, and chose the name TheatreMakers due to a belief that theatre can be made anywhere, by anyone, and with no need for a stage. They are committed to using theatre and drama to encourage adults and children to build confidence, self esteem and people skills, in addition to having a lot of fun!

It's taken me a really long time to be able to put this video out for public view.

This was a fun little project funded by Community Stories, it turned out to be very timely as it was the last project Beth and I did together. After this was finished she became too poorly to carry on working and we started making plans to close, our last performance being part of National Theatre Connections in April 2024.

This was a very short and fun piece. The young people pretty much took the lead The simple costume ideas and the not so subtle mickey taking out of Beth Walsh and I, could have been edited and polished out but as always we let them shine, be imperfect and beautiful in that.

The project needed us to go back through all our figures for each of our projects and realise the impact we had over the decade TheatreMakers was in existence. We reached a lot of people and we worked really hard, (sometimes). It had value, and it was special.
I hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed making it.

With love

Bev

It is with deep sadness I have to write this post.
My Co Director, business partner and best friend, Beth Walsh exited the stage last night for the last time.

She was peaceful and her family were with her.

Anyone who knew Beth felt the love and warmth she radiated. She adored our ten years in business together, she was the driving force and I was the engine. We didn't always approach things the same way but we always complimented each other. We were the Yin and Yang of our business, she the thinker, the creator and the socialite, me the doer, the organiser and the planner.
She loved every single one of the children and adults that came through our sessions. She just "got" kids, even the shyest and most challenging children would blossom under her gaze and guidance.

She will be deeply missed by so many. Worcester TheatreMakers was a family and all of you were part of that
Thank you

Bev ###
