Today, weāre celebrating the incredible stage managers and backstage crew who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring every production to life. From keeping everything running smoothly to making sure every cue is right on time, stage management is at the heart of every successful show.

1. Stage Left is often called Prompt Corner because itās the traditional spot for the Deputy Stage Manager. Did you know they have a copy of the script and have every lighting, sound, scenery and band cue labelled with a Standby and a Go? During the performance they tell everyone backstage what to do and when!
2. Stage Management set up the rehearsal room so it resembles the Stage with tape on the floor to mark scenery. They also find props and furniture to help make the move to the theatre seamless.
3. Every scenery and prop move is planned and written down in a show track so we know what is onstage at all times and how it gets there. Every show, Stage Management check to make sure everything is where it needs to be for a smooth performance.
4. Every aspect of the production is risk assessed by Stage Management. From the materials props and scenery are made from to ensuring adequate warm ups. From organising tidy wings to fight calls.
5. Stage Management take control of the production as soon as the show opens, making sure the wishes of the creatives are followed at all times, thinking on their feet when things go wrong.
