It is with great sadness that we lost this lovely gentleman Mr Barry Atkinson on May 17th.

Now Barry was a gentleman always was grateful for the care he got at woodlands , I remember Barry coming for respite then ended up in hospital and he wanted to come back to the woodlands and his face when I came back to see him was a picture the loveliest smile and relief on his face. This is something that always sticks in our roles knowing you make a difference.

Many of the staff called him Bazza he loved it, loved talking about his life especially his pigeons and how he was a chef and lived in Spain with his lovely wife Susan, then ending his career in the NHS where he met his Susan.

What a lovely devoted couple they both were, lovely to see, both missed each other when the other wasn’t around. They spent their last Christmas at woodlands together. Barry loved the wine, but wasn’t his favourite ❤️

This gentleman is missed by us all. Sending love to his family especially Susan ###x
