Summer Exhibition
Open Saturdays and Sundays and Bank Hols
10am-5pm
Until end September

The art club was founded in 1968 but at that time did not have a home or permanent venue for exhibitions. In 1974 the club was offered part of the
old Granary complex and after two and a half years of hard work and fund raising the present premises were officially opened in November 1976. Woodbridge is one of

the few art clubs to have its own gallery and studio (plus a pottery kiln) dedicated for the use of the members. The club’s premises are always well used and members have set days in the week allocated for their own artistic pursuits. The ethos of the club is to encourage amateur artists of whatever standard, but membership is limited to 200. There are frequent exhibitions of members’ work at the club throughout the year and members share a duty rota to “staff” the exhibitions. There is also a regular weekly programme of talks, demonstrations and practical painting sessions which are always well attended. The club also arranges a number of classes for members at weekends and during the week (some on location) and all run by professional artists. These classes are extremely popular and a continuing improvement in standard reflects the members’ enthusiasm and enjoyment which we hope visitors to our exhibitions will share.

What a glorious start to the day! Everyone was in good spirits as we gathered for our workshop, which focused on the humble pebble — something we often overlook, yet full of quiet beauty when we take the time to truly observe it. It was a wonderful opportunity to study the subtle colours, intricate markings and varied shapes up close.
There was so much lovely work from everyone, full of care and creativity. Cathy kept us well supplied with refreshments and a delicious assortment of cakes — very much appreciated!
Great work, everyone. Now, go and enjoy the sunshine! ☀️

We are a not-for-profit pottery collective with a shared studio space based in Felixstowe where members can make pottery and ceramics. We are equipped with a pottery wheel and a kiln.

We do not offer lessons but we do offer amateur potters a community, sharing ideas and skills, friendship, and conversation.

We are sometimes on the look out for new members. We welcome applications from amateur potters based in East Suffolk who are passionate about creating with clay and developing their skills, and keen to join a sociable group of like-minded potters for support, collaboration, and friendship in a shared studio space.

Prospective members don't need a degree in ceramics but will need to possess basic pottery skills and be able to work independently.
