Our bodies change.
They have been through life.
Especially as women, we go through so much in our lifetime — pregnancy, childbirth, hormonal changes, perimenopause, menopause, sleepless nights, the wear and tear of our bodies, and the demands of constantly juggling so many different hats.
Mother. Daughter. Friend. Partner. Wife. Boss. Carer. So many roles. So many responsibilities.
And your magnificent body has carried you through all of it.
Without complaint.
Without asking for anything in return.
But as time goes by, we enter the next decade of our lives as women.
I am 42.
Four decades behind me.
Our bodies change and adjust as we enter new phases of life. We are not teenagers anymore. We are not 25. We are not 35, when perhaps we first started noticing little changes in our bodies.
We are 40.
And are we any less beautiful?
Any less capable?
Any less worthy?
No.
If anything, we are wiser. More grounded. More content. More rooted in who we are.
We know our worth.
We know more clearly what we want from life.
Yes, our bodies change as we age.
That is part of life.
Our outer shell was never meant to stay the same forever. And the body you have today is a body you have earned through your lifetime.
It is yours to cherish.
Yours to care for.
Yours to nurture in the best way you can.
And yes, our bodies will change again. That is inevitable.
But our soul can stay young forever.
Keep that little twinkle in your eye.
Keep your curiosity about life.
Keep learning.
Keep travelling.
Keep meeting people.
Keep finding the awe in ordinary, everyday moments.
Life will change.
You will change.
Your body will change.
Celebrate it. Appreciate it. Honour it.
You have one body.
Yours.
Nourish it.
Nurture it.
Love it.
Celebrate it.
Tend to it like a temple, with tenderness and loving care.
Because this is the body that carries you through this life.
Your magnificent.
Your majestic.
Your marvellous body.
We are ordinary people with extraordinary bodies. 💙
