This term we’ve welcomed 2 new teachers- Sador and Ziggy to take over the Film and Tv and Comedy and Drama teachers as Matt and Lauren go on to new adventures! They both had a fantastic first week on Saturday and are looking forward to getting to use their unique skills in future lessons and projects!

We’re back!! 🎭

Welcome back to PQA! We’ve had a great summer break but we’re glad to be back!!

🫟 Poppets had a great time meeting new classmates and were exploring animal acting and their physicality.

🎬 In Film, we’ve welcomed Sador back as our full time film teacher! He taught the students all about branding and advertising and ended with a fun quiz.

🎭 In Comedy & Drama we welcomed Ziggy as our new teacher and introduced our new fantasy ensemble project!

🩰 In Musical Theatre, Chantelle introduced our new project and the students were devising their own performances based on some spooky songs leading up to Halloween!

It’s back to school time! 📚🎭

At PQA, we can’t wait to welcome back our students and the wonderful new people joining us for taster sessions and we’d like to celebrate all the ways PQA can help young people both on and off stage!

As some schools unfortunately take the focus off of the creative arts, we understand how important it is for our students to have the opportunity to have a creative outlet. Every Saturday, our students learn strategies to memorise lines, gain confidence in public speaking and connecting with peers and explore classical texts they may struggle with in schools like Shakespeare.

We also help our students understand future education and career paths within the creative industries helping to guide several of our students to go on to performing arts sixth forms, drama schools, apprenticeships and successful freelance careers after leaving school.

We can’t wait for another fantastic term and we wish everyone heading back to school this week luck!

The team at PQA have enjoyed a well earned summer break but don’t worry we haven’t forgotten you!

The academy assistants went on a trip to the Black Country Living Museum which has become a hotspot for the arts in the West Midlands to see how PQA could help inspire the next generation of West Midlands creatives.

The museum is known for its stunning period filming locations attracting productions like Antiques Roadshow, the world famous Peaky Blinders Series and even academy assistant Kodi during his film course.

It inspires and creates jobs for performers and students in its cast of historical characters and special events including its Halloween scare events where assistant Sarah once performed.

We’re proud at PQA Wolverhampton to be in the heart of a growing arts and media scene and we help to inspire and teach the next generation of filmmakers, performers and artists to help put the West Midlands on the map.

We can’t wait to welcome you all back on 5th September for a new and exciting term!

Our last National Theatre Connections play was performed in 2024 by the AM Red Group. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to go to Buxton Opera House to act infront of an audience of family and the public!

Last week we had our end of year showcase! All three groups showed a musical piece and a drama piece they had been preparing this half term for all our parents! 🎭🎶

💚 Green group performed Jersey Boys 🎶 and showed off improv skills!

💙 Blue group danced to Thriller from MJ and did a shortened Legally Blonde showcase!

❤️ And Red group sang from Tina! the Musical and did a full improv scene based on prompts!
