Jonas Mekas is know for his rapid-fire diary films. His Scenes from the Life chronicles not only Andy Warhol, but also the social and cultural excitement that swirled around him, throbbing to a hypnotic Velvet Underground beat.
🎞️ End of the Art World, 1971, dir. Alex Krasilovsky
‘End of the Art World’ explores the most famous 1960’s artists in New York City on 16mm film, ending in a “Bang!” as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and New York “exploded” in a visual montage.
