Join us as we celebrate a huge milestone – our 10th anniversary! In 2027, we’re shining a spotlight on Wolverhampton, and we want to hear from authors, poets, performers and organisations with ideas to help us celebrate all things Wolves.

Submissions are open for our Young Person’s Writing Award, in collaboration with the Wolverhampton Literature Festival and the
City of Wolverhampton Council’s Libraries Service. Wolverhampton Today Wolverhampton Libraries

The award invites young people aged 11 to 18 to submit original, unpublished writing responding to the theme ‘Reading Places.’

📅 Open: 6 Feb – 30 Apr 2026

🖊️ What can you submit?
Unpublished poetry, fiction, or non-fiction inspired by our theme:
Theme: Reading Places (Where do you read? Why does it matter? What happens there?)

📏 Word limits:
• Poetry: max 40 lines
• Prose: 250–500 words

📄 How to submit:
Send your work as a Word document, 12pt Times New Roman, including:
• Your name
• Age
• Email
• Postal address

⏰ Deadline: Midnight, 30 April 2026
