Happy New Year everyone! 🥳🥳🥳 It's been a year of a lot of ups and downs, but one thing that's been a major 'up' for me is finding myself again creatively. Some poetry has been written, some stories have been dreamt up, but mostly canvases have been tackled, and I look forward to showing you everything I've created with the promise of more art in 2026 ❤️.

This is one of my personal favourites, all varnished and ready for the perfect home ❤️🏠

This piece started with something we usually throw away — peeled masking tape from other paintings. It’s often so beautiful on its own that I’ve been itching to finally see what happens if I let it become the work instead of the by-product, or trash.

So, I slowed everything right down with a hankering to start off with a dark yet vibrant yellow. I built a soft gradient base, added careful layers of colour and texture, and let mark-making lead the process.

I then placed each tape fragment on the canvas by feel, letting them dance with the surface.

And finally, I let loose with Posca markers until it felt alive.

An intuitive little experiment in restraint, rhythm, and turning leftovers into the main course. ✨

Hung up my new elsewhere in the house to get a new perspective. It's not quite done, but I can't touch it with a brush again until I know how to finish it off. Once it is finished, it will be available to buy at exclusively! 🥳🥳🥳

Some of my work happens intuitively, and within a few days time I feel it's complete. But with some pieces, the larger work in particular, I have to sometimes spend weeks looking at it until the muse returns and I find the visual tale completed.

Presenting 'Resolute', acrylic abstract on large canvas.

Now available to view on the wall at V**e Ventures -Wivenhoe in , and will soon be available to buy online....the 'where online' I'm keeping secret for a little bit longer, but I've got exciting news to share soon!

I feel this is my own best painting - so much emotion went into this and I've grown very attached to having it around as a reminder of what I went through creating this. Anyone else feel this strongly about a specific piece of work?
Every painting has its own story, but this one feels extra significant.

Took my favourite and most precious abstract painting of all time to my own little gallery in V**e Ventures -Wivenhoe and now miss seeing it at home 😄 Even if you don't v**e, do pop in and have a look. I will get a photograph up tomorrow, but I've spent a lot of time staring at it myself and do feel photos don't do it justice. If you do v**e, Ian is your man! He can talk about the benefits of va**ng over smoking all day long and gives brilliant advice on what's best for you, without trying to sell you things you won't want or need to make some money. He's honestly a lovely guy and worth having a chat with if you want to give up smoking! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
