The Three Sisters ๐ซ๐ฝ๐ฅ - an ancient method of companion planting, using peas/legumes, squash and corn. This method is a great way to grow a lot of food in a very small space, as well as maximising efficient water usage.
The three sisters are: Legumes (e.g. peas or mange tout), Corn and Squash. The corn will grow upright and provide a sturdy frame for the legumes to hold on to as they grow alongside it, and this leaves lots of ground space for expanding runners of squash plants to spread and grow. In this video, you see us using a frame to support our peas, but next year weโre going to experiment with different varieties of legume that'll work a bit better with the corn.
