We might not be able to be out there making and creating physical work, but do you know what we have been doing? Updating our website! Sure, it's not as exciting as a new project or collaboration, but it's looking fresh ✨ Plus, it's meant we've been looking back on what we've achieved over the last five years and feeling so nostalgic. Why don't you take a gander?

StormCloud Arts & Theatre are a new and vibrant arts company based in Hampshire. Created by two University of Wi******er graduates, StormCloud is dedicated to using the arts for good.

Incredible examples of the wonder of set design! The image of An Inspector Calls took us back a few years; did anyone else study this at secondary school? 🙋 📚

We mine the archive of Guardian photographer Tristram Kenton for the great creations of designers including Tim Yip, Rae Smith and Tom Scutt

Hello there, world! Is there anybody out there? It’s been a while since we’ve been in touch, and a lot has changed in the world since March 2020. However, we are still here!

Surviving and thriving in a pandemic has been hard for everyone, and our thoughts are constantly with those who have been affected in these harsh times. Earlier this year, we decided to take a pause on our creative work once we realised how vast this pandemic was. We are so lucky to be in a position when we can take the time to pause and breathe, and to continue from where we left off. Alongside running StormCloud, our creative team work full-time, study, run community groups, and have just been trying to survive, like everyone else.

During these few months, we’ve been hurt by the disillusionment of our government, through their handling of the pandemic and their neglect regarding the importance of the arts industry. If anything, this pandemic has shown how important and valuable the arts truly are – a statement we will always be behind.

COVID is still here, and will be for a while longer. Lockdowns will continue and the world will be different. But we are looking to the future, and it’s a bright one! Some day soon, we will be able to make and create again; breaking down barriers, collaborating with new talent, and doing what we love.

In the meantime, it’s not all doom and gloom. We have been writing and practising, looking at future projects. Rory has been recording music, and Rosie has seen success with her blog, rosieabigail.com. So many of our collaborators have graduated and are thriving in the world. Oh, and it looks like there will be the small matter of a StormCloud wedding in 2022…

From our creative family to yours, we hope you are doing well, and we cannot wait to make some noise for you again.
- Rory Blincow and Rosie Lewis

PS – Thank you to all the incredible frontline and essential workers who have been working so incredibly hard. We are forever indebted to you.

In an unprecidented time, with the world turning like it never has, all projects halted, and Britain on lockdown, we thought we'd bring some joy to your timelines! 🎉 Here's an informal cover we recorded a few years ago of Madness' 'It Must Be Love', for Rosie's parent's wedding anniversary. This song makes us think of summer and happiness, and we hope it brings a little joy to your day ☀️

On this , we are practising our folk sets! Signs of Spring are peeking through, and that always makes us think of sessions in the sun. Our team are also seeing folk legend Jon Boden next week, so are getting in the spirit for the show! 🎶

For two years now, we've performed in various capacities at the excellent Stroud Shakespeare Festival 🎭 There won't be a festival this year, but Stroud Shakespeare Festival will still be making noise and music with a production of 'As You Like It' in August! 🌲💐 Auditions are this Friday & Saturday for any Gloucestershire or South-West performers, and we thoroughly recommend getting involved. Information can be found on their page.

It's been quite quiet on the StormCloud front, but we are happy to say we are back! Due to prolonged illness and familial circumstances, we had to step back from working hard with the company and deal with what life was throwing at us. However, everything is now on the up and up which means the creative cogs are working again. We are so excited to show you what we've got coming up for this year and can't wait to begin 🌩

This just in; photos from our original piece 'An Education'! 📚

This piece was written by co-director Rosie Lewis, and performed for '200 Years of Autumn' at the Theatre Royal Wi******er, in October 2019. We had an immense amount of fun celebrating the words of Keats (whilst satirising the current teaching of poetry in schools)!
