As many of you will know Ski and Timo are pretty active both as performers and behind the scenes organising and promoting events in the BCP area. As part of the latter they are involved in the Arts by the Sea festival and this year are running an event called “The Cube” on Sunday 27th September.

They are looking for visual and musical artists to participate in this event. If you are interested in participating as an audio and/or visual artist, or can provide support with kit then get in touch direct with Ski via email at [email protected]

With mr.Symms stepping away from Bournemouth EMOM, hopefully for just a short while, Martyn Alner and I are looking to expand the number of people involved in running Bournemouth EMOM.

Aside from running the night (set-up, sound desk, video and audio recording, photography and compering) there are a host of other tasks involved in putting Bournemouth EMOM on including marketing, editing videos, creating reels and YouTube content (something we have not had the the time to do recently), sorting out the line-up for the night and liaising with artists performing on the night.

A really fun Bournemouth EMOM last night at the The Four Horsemen Pub. Great to see so many people there. Superb performances throughout. It was a really special way for me to finish my stint as compere and co-organiser, including an impromptu ceremonial handing over of the infamous jacket!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

20th August will sadly be my last time hosting and co-organising Bournemouth EMOM.

When Marc, Martyn and I planned the first event back in September 2024, we never expected it to take off the way it did, let alone win a music award after just one year.

These monthly events have always been about more than the organisers though. Most important of all is the community "of electronic people" that has built up. Such talent and creativity, new friendships and collaborations. For me personally, seeing people make their first ever live performances and develop as artists has been particularly special. Oh — and all the gear, of course…

EVERY single EMOM has been unique and amazing. Being able to put on the Wavetable event at the Palace Court Theatre last year, co-hosting with EMOM founder Martin Christie, is something I will never forget.

Crucially though, we all want Bournemouth EMOM to continue so any help to keep it running would be appreciated. So I am reaching out to the community for anyone who wants to get involved to get in touch and help Marc and Martyn keep this amazing monthly event going and take it to another level. A few of you have already expressed interest.

At least you will now get a well deserved rest from the "Bloke in Orange". But before then, here is — by absolutely NO popular demand whatsoever — my performance from March this year (room audio only). Appropriately, it was all about electronic musicians coming out of their sheds and basements and finding a community.
