Let's talk rubbish.
And bins.
The bench and bin opposite the Co-op were commissioned by The Memorial Hall and it is a popular and well used resting spot.
Permission to place the seat and bin were given on the condition that the Hall took on the responsibility to maintain it and empty the bin.
This is done so by our caretaker and on occasions other volunteers.
It is NOT emptied by the council.
Sometimes the bin is full to overflowing with a range of plastic bottles, cans, food packets and half eaten food waste and that is primarily the bins purpose.
But, we politely remind dog walkers to not deposit their bags of dog waste in this bin.
